Self-regulating heating plates reduce power consumption

As one of the main goals of the JOSPEL project is to reduce the amount of energy required for heating and cooling, various innovative technologies such as Peltier devices are applied. One of these technologies is self-regulating heating plates that will be installed in the doors of the test vehicles.

The heating plates, which have been developed by JOSPEL partner AIMPLAS, are self-regulating, so with a fixed voltage you get a fixed temperature – much like a thermostat. That way, you reduce the on/off cycles needed to heat and cool the vehicle cabin, which reduces the power consumption.

In the video below, Compound Researcher Vanessa Gutiérrez Aragonés from AIMPLAS demonstrates the heating plates and explain their technological properties.
